Small containers are useful for many things. They're good for storing snacks if you have children, as well as holding coins or odds and ends. But those regular store-bought containers are lame—who wants to keep their stuff in a Tupperware dish or old butter container?
If you're going to be using them a lot, it's best for them to be just as cool looking as functional. And with a little ingenuity, you can make your own awesome container made from things found around your home, like this zippered soda bottle container that looks like Pac-Man.
- Two plastic bottles
- Super glue (or hot glue)
- Sewing needle and thread (if you don't have glue)
- Decorating materials
It's pretty simple. Just check out this how-to video from Trashthetic:
As you can see, making a sweet container is quite simple.

Over at Thrifty Fun they've made their zippered container a bit differently. They instead sewed their zipper on the outside. Is this more efficient than affixing it to the inside?
Live Green Style has made a cool variation for the kids, turning their container into a frog! Notice they used a red zipper and attached some eyes. So fun!
Finally, Spoonful has made an awesome frog-like container for the children, as well. However, their version utilizes cork eyes that pop up off the container. Ingenious!
Well there you have it! Can you think of a better or craftier way to make this container than some of these examples? Hopefully this triggered a light bulb in your brain. Sound off in the comments section below and let me know.
